Taste of the Nation: End ChildhoodHunger

Did you know 1 out of 5 which equals 16 million children suffer from hunger? A bit of a shocker especially in a nation that seems to live in excess – and no matter what we try to do nothing can change those increasing facts.

Thankfully, there are tons of organizations ready to combat and annihilate childhood hunger – and one of them just happens to be one of my favorite to attend and show some love every year.

On April 25, it was a great decision to start the week by giving back, enjoying great food, meeting some amazing people and of course knowing this day will make a difference in a child’s life.

Similar to last year, the plan was quite simple: show up, taste everything and anything while having fun during the Taste of the Nation, No Kid Hungry annual event, presented by Share Our Strength.

The new location at 225 Liberty made it even more possible to enjoy everything including the band downstairs. Over 50 mixologists and chefs came together to highlight their creative dishes and spirits in all in favor of a good time.

Whether you were a vegan, vegetarian, or a carnivore of all sorts – there was something there for everyone to enjoy. Restaurants represented most if not all parts of New York for one special night.

As soon as you walked in, the music and scent from seared tuna, sirloin steak, stuffed duck, foie gras, pesto on crostinis, mac ‘n’ cheese, gelato, crumbled ice-cream and special culinary adventures which included the all new rosé garden, Passover-Inspired food roundup– and of course the music immediately pulled you in.

In case you were a Citi cardholder, there were some beautiful and cozy lounges upstairs in addition to the Citi Lounge downstairs – just enough space to gaze into the breathtaking views from downtown, Manhattan.

If you missed this event, there are plenty of upcoming events to taste the nation, end childhood hunger and help make No Kid Hungry a reality. Click here for more information on donating to the organization and much more.
