The best thing about Fall, aside from watching the transition of seasons – is to sit back, cuddle up with a favorite blanket and tune in front of the television to start the highly anticipated binge watching adventure -until a new revolution of warmer weather starts.
On Monday, September 12, The Marquee located on Midtown West drew a congregation of on-lookers including and a sea of paparazzi anxiously waiting outside the venue waiting to get a glimpse of the VIP guest list attending the premiere. The list included Whoopi Goldberg, Real Housewives of New York’s
The list included Whoopi Goldberg, Real Housewives of New York’s Ramona Singer and Dorinda Medley, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Brielle Biermann (Bravo’s Don’t Be Tardy), TV Personality Bevy Smith, and of course the cast members of the show strutting their way on the Red Carpet.
Strut is about the first modeling agency exclusively catering to Transgender individuals –and who better to own the hashtag “push the envelope” in that direction, other than a well-renowned actress, comedian, and also the second black female to be in the position to receive an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award.
Also, the name may ring a bell from the following movies The Color Purple (1985), Sister Act (1 &2), Ghost (1990), Jumping Jack Flash (1986) (plus more) – and currently a TV host on The View, the very outspoken and human rights advocate, Whoopi Goldberg is taking a seat in the background as the Executive Producer for Strut.
The lives of transgender models – Laith De La Cruz, Dominique Jackson, Isis King, Ren Spriggs, and Arisce Wanzer are documented on the show as they pursue their passions of making a name for themselves on the runway while highlighting their experiences and challenges of gender stereotyping. Through the assistance and guidance of Cecilio Asuncion and Cassandra Cass of Slay Model Management, this is their story.
Strut premieres on Tuesday, September 20. Looking forward to a new show pushing the boundaries and highlighting the importance of acceptance in our social culture.
