It’s June 2, and the weather is kind of on the rainy side. Then again, that never stopped anyone – especially New Yorkers from tending to daily things and making the most out of the weather.
Though it was quite clear the intermittent drizzles seemed endless, the agenda called to attend the 2015 Workshop Performance Benefit presented by the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center.
A short subway ride, and a few walking steps later, it was a delight to watch as 700 guests arrived at the Julliard Morse Hall -all dressed up in their best cocktail attire and ready to warm with some cocktails before the performance at 7pm.
An hour later, and we were all ushered into the Peter Jay Sharp Theater for a very amazing, highly anticipated performance by up and coming students enrolled in the program.
What a great event from start to finish. The costume colors were perfect and symbolized the new upcoming season and the choreography was light, fun, and whimsical – just the way it should be.
The evening concluded with a delicious dinner at the Mandarin Hotel – just a few walking steps from Lincoln Center on the other side of Columbus Circle.
500 Guests had the chance to view an encore performance at 9pm while dining and help raise money for the Benefit.
Congratulations to raising over $890K which will be allocated to scholarships and continuing to enhance more programs for students.
Honoree: Legendary Rudolf Nureyev as the evening also celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Rudolf Nureyev Dance Scholarship.
– During his career, Mr Nureyev, has dedicated countless hours in SAB’s classrooms and in 1994, the Rudolf Nureyev Dance Foundation presented the School with additional annual scholarship funding for students to continue reaching their dreams.
This is a great annual event and for those interested in joining the program, finding out more information on how to donate to the SAB Workshop, and the upcoming schedule for the season, click here.
