It seems 2016 is the year for epic events. This includes a leap year, the Summer Olympics in Brazil and last but not least, the highly anticipated truly unique, and upcoming presidential election in November.
Though no one expected the current nominations to basically rise into popularity, this election has erupted an ongoing media frenzy unlike any other – might as well use every opportunity to exploit it to the fullest.
Enter, The Spiders! Their new video, “Election Day” wastes no time bursting the bubbles and pushing the envelope with the lyrics.
Then again, isn’t that the mission of music in general? It helps us heal, get inspired, ignite hope, believe in something and express ourselves. Headlining the trio group is the lead guitarist Nick DeStefano whose cameos span from the Stone Pony in New Jersey to The Troubadour in LA.
Also adding to the resume, Nick has appeared in two award-winning videos on MTV and appeared on compilation CD’s with several artists. This includes the Smithereens, Glen Burtnick, and Joe Lynn Turner just to name drop a few. That said, you know what to expect from the Spiders and/or Nick.
The song does not hold any filters and it definitely strikes a nerve and celebrates the first amendment of freedom of speech while rocking out the fifteenth amendment – the right to vote.
