Before proceeding forward, let’s set the date. It’s March 17. The weather is at a comfortable setting – just a little north of forty degrees but not quite Spring, just yet especially because Spring is not due for another few days.
The best part of this day is the fact that the streets are bleeding green – because it was also Saint Patrick’s Day as well. While the parade conquers the avenues and day turns into night, I’m pretty certain the activities for the night got a bit more in heavy demand.
However, if you were available to attend the Cocktails by Design later that evening, then you already know this event never disappoints.
The morning started off at the Architectural Show, with some Mary’s (Bloody Mary’s that is) and Mimosas – kind of sounds like as it’s describing a design product of sorts.
Shortly after that and a tour of a few of the abundant isles of great home, bath, kitchen manufacturing furnishings and a preview of other products (including stove tops made with Swarovski crystals embedded in them), I took some time to explore what I could.
A few hours later, I returned to Pier 92 to finish off the night with another fun charity titled Cocktails by Design, also presented by DIFFA.
Specialty cocktails were sponsored by Patron Tequila and Brooklyn Brewery provided the beer. Guests also had chances to munch on samplings from North Square Restaurant, STK, Davios, Lady M, Raymi, Indochine, Murray’s Cheese, Strip House and Atlantic Grill Lincoln Center.
I would say perhaps this was a great way to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day. For more information on DIFFA and upcoming events, click here. See you at the next event.
