As we try to gear ourselves for the upcoming Spring season, there are always a few events that we look forward to attending – and one of them just happens to be the annual Ballet Hispanico Gala.
For the past couple of years, we have had the pleasure of being part of this amazing charity event and wish to hopefully continue the trend of our attendance for many years to come.
On March 30, we arrived at the iconic Plaza Hotel to join other guests as they honored a special evening that consisted of dinner, drinks, charity and live performances by the Ballet Hispanico Company, students from the Ballet Hispanico School of Dance and P.S. 87M.
The night concluded with guests dancing to live salsa music provided by Grupo Irék. All proceeds benefited the creation of new Company works, donating financial aid and merit scholarships to the Ballet Hispanico School of Dance, and community arts education programs.
The night was themed “Noche Cubana” and was attended by over 475 guests who contributed to raising over $1.1M in a single night and honoring a few Cuban civic leaders.
Milena Alberti-Pérez and David Pérez. Award: Civic Inspiration Award
Ben Rodriguez-Cubeñas. Award: Nuestra Inspiración Award
This year’s Gala also celebrated “Puentes” – Ballet Hispanico’s Education programs.
We highly suggest attending the season during its duration from April 14-26 at the Joyce Theatre. For more information on how to donate to Ballet Hispanico, and/or to buy tickets for upcoming performances, click here.
