Where in New York City do you often find cool events to attend for free?

Name a few and even if you can’t – perhaps the 2015 Dusty Awards, held on May 12, is a good start for a future consideration.

For 26 years, the School of Visual Arts presents the event and every year since its inception, it gets bigger as more people participate to celebrate the Dusty Film and Animation Festival.

Below is the Festival’s Screening schedule:

Saturday, May 9 – Animation Series (Silas Theater)

Saturday, May 9: Film Screenings (Beatrice Theater)

Sunday, May 10: Film Screenings (Silas Theater)

Sunday, May 10: Film Screenings (Beatrice Theater)

Monday, May 11: Film Screenings (Silas Theater) and finally Monday, May 11: Film Screenings at Beatrice Theater.

More than 100 BFA filmmakers and animator graduates from BFA Film & Video and BFA Animation departments -were highlighted during the Festival and honored for their outstanding work during the Awards Ceremony.

P.S., all proceeds from the participating sponsors’ donations benefited thesis students in the form of grants and in-kind awards.

AbelCine, Adorama Rental Company, Animation Magazine, B&H Photo, Bryan Singer, Carlos Saldanha/BottleCap Productions, Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films, Feature Systems/Kits and Expendables, Foto Care, Gotham Sound, IFP, New York Women in Film & Television, Nice Shoes, Nickelodeon, Rota6, SCS Agency, SVA Campus Store, Technicolor PostWorks New York, and Toon Boom Animation – were amongst the list of the sponsor guest list.
